A website for a restaurant or café: what it must not miss

Before a guest visits you for the first time, they usually find you on their phone. They look for three things: what you cook, when you’re open and how to get to you. Find them quickly and they come. If not, they go elsewhere.

A menu that’s always up to date

A scanned PDF menu is a nightmare — hard to read on mobile and often outdated. A menu right on the website is better: readable on a phone and easy to update when you change the offer or prices.

Opening hours and directions

Put your opening hours and address in a visible place and connect the site to a map. The guest then starts navigation with one click. Don’t forget a phone number for reservations — ideally as a button that calls directly.

Photos that tempt

People eat with their eyes. A few quality photos of the interior and dishes do more than a long text. The site must be fast so the photos load instantly — a slow site puts off a hungry guest.

Be found on Google

A website connected to a Google Business Profile helps you appear when someone searches for “café” or “lunch” near you. That’s exactly the moment you want to be visible.
