Static website vs. an editing system: which is better for you

When building a website, one question comes up: do you want to manage content yourself through an admin panel, or is a site that “just is” and rarely changes enough? Both paths have their place.

A static website

A static website is fast, secure and runs on the cloud for free. It suits presentations that change only occasionally — price list, contact, a few pages. I handle the edits and they’re done in moments. For most sole traders and small businesses, it’s the ideal choice.

A website with an admin panel (CMS)

If you need to add content often yourself — say a blog with articles every week, or an offer that changes daily — a system with an admin panel fits. It’s a bit more expensive and demanding to run, but it gives you full independence.

How to choose

Ask yourself how often you’ll change the content. Rarely? A static site saves money and hassle. Often and on your own? Then an admin panel makes sense. I’m happy to advise what’s worth it in your case.
