How to choose good photos for your website
Photos are often the first thing a visitor perceives on a website. A good shot builds trust and appeal; a bad or generic one does the opposite. A few rules help you pick the right ones.
Your own always wins
Real photos of your business, products or work feel far more authentic than stock photography a visitor sees everywhere. Even phone photos in good light are usually better than an impersonal image from a database.
Quality and light
A sharp, well-lit shot works wonders. Shooting by a window in daylight gives natural colors without shadows. Avoid blurry and dark photos — they look careless.
Optimization is on me
Large photos can really slow a website down. But don’t worry about that — during the build I automatically resize them and convert them to a modern format (WebP), so they load fast while staying sharp.
