5 most common business website mistakes (and how to avoid them)
Many websites aren’t dragged down by one big mistake, but by several small things that add up. Here are the five most common — and the good news is that all of them can be fixed.
1. Slow loading
A visitor waits a few seconds, and if nothing happens, they leave. The most common culprit is unoptimized images. The fix is a lightweight site and images in a modern format.
2. Hidden contact
When a customer has to search for how to reach you, they often give up. Phone, email and form must be in plain sight and a few clicks away.
3. Doesn’t work on mobile
Most people arrive from a phone. A site broken on mobile puts off both the visitor and Google. Responsiveness today isn’t a choice but a necessity.
4. Outdated content
Old prices, last year’s promotion, outdated opening hours — all of it erodes trust. A website must reflect reality, otherwise it feels abandoned.
5. No clear next step
A nice website, but the visitor doesn’t know what to do. Every page should lead to one clear action — write, call, order.
